This Is Goodbye

We have sad news: Change is shutting down December 30, 2016. The iPad app will continue to work through the end of the year, but then after this date, you will no longer be able to sync information among devices or to your Change Dashboard.

IMPORTANT: To ensure your software continues to work through the end of the year, DO NOT UPDATE your iPad to iOS 10.

For year-end bookkeeping, you will still have access to your Change Dashboard and reports through May 1, 2017.

We understand many of you rely on Change daily to run your business so we want to provide plenty of time for you to transition to another service. In the FAQs below, you will find a list of point-of-sale alternatives that will hopefully work with your existing equipment. If you have any questions, we would be happy to guide you during your transition.

This has been an especially difficult decision to make and we assure you that we pursued every possible avenue in keeping Change alive. In the end, we weren’t generating enough revenue to build requested features and we couldn't afford to provide the customer service our subscribers deserve.

We are so thankful to so many of you who were willing to give Change a try. Over the past five years, we've built software that we are incredibly proud of and couldn’t have done it without your feedback and patience. Change Shutdown FAQs

What should I do before canceling my Change account?
Make sure all your information has been uploaded to your Change Dashboard by connecting your iPad to the internet and allowing it to sync. Once you see a checkmark icon in the status bar in the top left corner of the screen, you will know everything has been synced. Click here to see what that status icon looks like.

How long will Change be available?
Your iPad app will continue to work and sync through December 30, 2016. After this date, your apps may continue to work but your information will not upload to your Change Dashboard. You will be able to download your sales data and reports through May 1, 2017, by logging into your Change Dashboard.

How do I cancel my subscription?
When you are ready to cancel your subscription, sign into your Change Dashboard and under the Plan tab, click on “Put On Hold.” Instructions can be found here: http://help.change.io/articles/subscription-and-billing?rq=subscription#cancel

What if I’m owed a refund?
If you have an annual subscription, sign into your Change Dashboard and under the Plan tab, click on “Put On Hold.” Instructions can be found here: http://help.change.io/articles/subscription-and-billing?rq=subscription#cancel This will cancel your account at which point we will issue you a partial refund for the remainder of your subscription. We will follow up with you with your refund amount or you can call us at 515-661-5561 in the United States or (13) 9088 1357 in Australia.

What happens to my data?
You can download your data and reports anytime before May 1, 2017, by accessing the Change Dashboard at https://change.io/user/login. After May 1, 2017, the Change website will be taken down and all your data will be destroyed.

Will everything continue to work until the shutdown?
Hopefully, but we cannot guarantee it. We will be available to help with issues related to exporting data and transitioning to another service, but will not be able to fix bugs related to ordering or entering in new information.

What if I accidentally delete the app or need to install the app on a new device?
If you deleted your app, open the App Store app on your iPad, go to the “Updates” tab and then tap on “Purchased."

Can people still sign up?
No, we are no longer signing up new businesses. The iPad app has been removed from the Apple App Store.
