Last month, payment startup Square introduced Square Gift Cards, allowing users to buy and give gift cards directly on their smartphones. Gift-givers choose a business, select an amount, and send gifts with a personalized note. Chalk up gift-giving as yet another errand you can now run without having to leave your living room or boot up your laptop. (If you stay in your footie pajamas, no one has to know.)
We've been so swamped trying to get everything done before Christmas, so we decided to let someone else take care of our blog post for the week. Crumpet the cynical elf volunteered to talk about what we've been up to since launch...
We're pleased to announce the newest addition to the Change family, the New World Café! This all-vegan, mostly-organic restaurant opened recently in downtown Des Moines. Owners Adam Senecraut and Madeline Krantz aim to serve delicious, healthy meals free of animal cruelty. Apart from traditional café offerings like coffees and teas (milk- and honey-free, of course), they serve a variety of meals, including sandwiches, smoothies, and desserts.
In the upcoming months, we're going to break down the different elements of Change and walk you through our design considerations. We’ll cover what pain points we targeted, how we attempted to solve those problems, and which final touches we added to make it really shine.
This week, we’d like you to meet our ordering screens. If you’ve ever spent 20 minutes wandering around your house looking for your keys, you know how stressful it can be when things aren’t in their place and easy to find. We really didn't want baristas to feel the same way when taking orders from long lines of groggy coffee drinkers.
Last Friday, Dwolla put on a huge shindig at the Vaudeville Mews in downtown Des Moines to celebrate their second birthday with music, drinks, and toasts to future achievements.
We were thrilled to present Change and introduce our Dwolla payment integration. Businesses using Change can now send money requests directly to Dwolla users requesting payment. Once the request is fulfilled, the amount is applied to your order.
