This charming cafe is the latest to adopt Change and the first to use our upcoming split checks feature. So whether you come in with a big group and split the bill between everyone or you are dining solo at the bar, they've got you covered. As Trellis grows, LaValle is excited to take advantage of Change's reporting and Dashboard offerings to keep the back-of-house and front-of-house running smoothly.

The Trellis experience touts "Creative Cuisine from the Plant World." This includes a seasonal menu of soups, salads, sandwiches, and fabulous desserts. If you want a little of this and a little of that, you can "Pick Two" for a mixed plate. (See my Super Foods Salad and Grilled Turkey Rueben combo below.)
In addition to the food, the unique setting at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden makes Trellis an ideal spot for a local lunch. From one side of the cafe, peer into the tropical world of the garden's dome. And through the opposing windows, watch the trail-rimmed Des Moines riverfront.
