Use Change for seating
The first thing you'll notice in this update is a button in the order journal that say Add Seat. Not only can you add seats and assign items to those seats, but you can move items from one seat to another, all with the new inline editing feature.
Split checks any way you need
Whether you have a party of two going Dutch or a party of 20 where one person is picking up the appetizers, you can handle it with Version 1.2.4. Split a whole check, or any part of it, among guests. Print individual tickets and apply discounts to single seats. This, of course, makes table service possible. And not just possible, but downright pleasant. Some people think splitting checks is hard, but they must not be using Change.
Apply gratuity, service charges, and discounts
Have a party of 8 or more? Need to add gratuity to an order? Change can help you do that. The new gratuity function can also be used to apply service fees, like a delivery charge. You choose the amount and when it is applied. All during checkout.
Server-tested
One of our test sites for this version was Trellis Café in Des Moines, Iowa. They have been testing it out since opening in November, putting it through the paces for standard table service, often splitting checks and applying gratuity and discounts in the midst of crazy lunch rushes.
